"Kalabazi"

Street performance

A comic and poetic circus

Kalabazi is the story of a young woman who is about to get married. Everything is ready. But someone is missing…

So she organizes a love contest to discover which member of the audience could be the ideal partner.

Two people from the audience volunteer and undergo trials; the young woman encourages them with her acrobatic stunts on the bicycle and her strange, upside-down speech.

Who will be the chosen one?

This performance, which combines circus, clowning, and poetry, is full of emotion and is performed in the local language of the venue—whether it be Neapolitan or Brazilian dialect, Inuktitut, or Lingala.

Kalabazi has already been performed more than 1,300 times in 33 countries, in 8 languages and 23 dialects.
