"Dreams in a Box"

“Sogni in scatola” (Dreams in a Box) is an ode to imagination, set in a world made of packing tape, boxes, and packaging. A show where anything is possible.

Two small and funny characters will become partners in enormous creations; in their eyes, everything is gigantic and oversized, just as it is in a child’s eyes. And with this perspective, they will manage to imagine incredible realities, taking the audience on an entertaining surrealistic journey where imagination is the main ingredient of this blend of circus and theater.

PRODUCTION NOTES

The performance “Sogni in scatola” was born from the Nanirossi Company’s plan for a new show. The central theme of the performance is cardboard boxes and packaging materials in general, which will literally flood the stage. Indeed, the only element of the universe in which the characters evolve is cardboard.

An excellent symbol of our society, through the objects and forms it can take, it will be accompanied by the use of manipulation techniques, manual skills (acrobatics with a partner), and clowning.

In a world that is a product of the “use and throw away” consumer revolution, where need has become essential and has replaced logic with the illogical, it is natural to defend ourselves through the most commonplace and simple behaviors, such as a return to innocence, imagination, and being children… after all, it doesn’t take much to be happy.
