What’s Boiling in the Orchestra?
Toccatas, fugues, and… blunders!
Written and performed by Michele Cafaggi and Davide Baldi
Directed by Ted Luminarc
featuring an orchestra **
The Orchestra and the Conductor have been preparing for quite some time.
The work was careful and meticulous, so, finally, everyone is ready to perform in front of their audience at a big concert!
But… watch out! Two slightly eccentric musicians have decided to
bring new, amazing musical instruments to the stage that… produce light, colorful, transparent, and silent notes… just like soap bubbles!
“Cosa bolle in Orchestra” is a performance that premiered on January 6, 2020, in Rome at the Auditorium Parco della Musica, in the Santa Cecilia Hall. In collaboration with the Accademia Santa Cecilia and JuniOrchestra Kids 2.
At the request of the Academy itself, the aim was to create a performance that would bring movement and vitality to the Orchestra and its musicians, seeking to present music to the latter as fun and entertainment. Not only that, but also with the desire to involve young musicians in a wide-ranging project, in which multiple art forms coexist on the same stage.
** “What’s Boiling in the Orchestra?” is now a model that can be applied to any musical ensemble interested in doing so. Not only full orchestras, but also small ensembles, bands, or groups of musicians, preferably young ones.
